The purpose of module 4 – Project Server is to give the participant an introduction to the set up and use of Project Server. Participants will also learn how to use Microsoft Project, when it is attached to a server.
At this course you can learn how to configure Project Server with rights and profiles that fit the specific organization’s demands and wishes.
We show how a shared pool of resources is established with a set up of competences and work profiles that match the actual organization.
It will be shown how to apply the organizational cells to projects, resources and activities in Project Server.
Project Server requires that its users have Microsoft Project Professional installed. We will show the displays the project manager has at hand to create an overview of the resource expenditures and the project’s portfolio.
Project Server contains a global set up file: Global.mpt. It communicates to all its Project users. You will see how to set up displays, tables and use organizational cells, so that the system is at its optimal functionality to the single company.
After completion of the course, the participant will be able to configure and apply Project Server and set up users with the correct rights. The participant will be able to control the generel set up of Project Professional.
Experience in and knowledge about time and resource planning corresponding to module 1 and 2. It is also an advantage, if the participant has passed module 3 – Multi project management or has a corresponding understanding of it.
